We got into Nashville a couple of days ago and are enjoying sunny skies, cool evenings, and wonderful days. We took a day to restock the RV and rest but spent yesterday exploring Nashville. Since I was country when “Country Wasn’t Cool” I’ve spent a lot of years hearing about Nashville. It hasn’t been disappointing that’s for sure. I’m sure there is a whole bunch of industry here beyond music but it is well buried. It’s music everywhere, a very, very, unique place.

Last night was the highlight when we took in the “Grand Ole Opry.” All I can say is WOW. No matter what your personal music preferences might be a visit to the Grand Ole Opry would be a great experience. For a country music fan it’s the experience of a lifetime. We were fortunate to get main floor seats, center, about half way back. They couldn’t have been better.
It was huge fun to see “Little Jimmy Dickens” performing at age 90. Yes he’s still going and he is 90. He told a whole string of jokes poking fun at his age and what he can and can’t do. You can imagine what they might have been. There were many more stars but Lee Greenwood, Clint Black, Connie Smith, and Gretchen Wilson, stood out for me.

They closed the night out with Charlie Daniels and he shut it down with his biggest hit, “Devil Went Down To Georgia.” Charlie happened to be celebrating his 75th birthday yesterday and watching him play his “Fiddle” was just unbelievable. His band is great, the music is great, but to see that song performed live was huge.
So today we’re headed downtown to explore. We’ll start with the Country Music Hall of Fame and see where it takes us.
Tomorrow it’s off to Memphis for a few days of Jazz and of course Elvis's Graceland.
Thanks for stopping by and please do leave a comment when you can.
